This is Lola, our ticked tabby, enjoying some early morning autumn sunshine. What a poseur!
An ambitious stencil that deserves some wider circulation than a lane on the edge of Norwich city centre.
These are herrings split and racked ready for going into the smoking oven to be turned into kippers – a traditional way of preparing this, once abundant, fish. A whole industry and culture existed on the East coast of Britain based around this wonderful, tasty fish.
This stencil appears fairly frequently around Norwich. I’ve worked on the image in Photoshop, the original can be found on my Flickr site in the stencils set.
Free running/parcour has a growing number of practitioners in Norwich. These young men are doing their thing in the middle of town on a busy Saturday afternoon. a little selective masking and blurring has been used to de-emphasise the foreground figures on the left.

Went to the beach today and captured this, brought it home and did a little work in photoshop with it. It’s a detail of a part of the sea defences (groynes) which line the Norfolk coast to help reduce coastal erosion.
Norwich Union’s twin buildings in the centre of the city, probably seen at their best in this late evening light, though there’s no escaping those brutal lines and bland glazed finish. click here for an alternative view.
